HOUSTON -

Police are investigating the death of a woman who was pronounced dead on a Qatar Airways flight en route to Houston.

Officials said Fatimah M. Alsiari, 49, of Saudia Arabia died on Friday, Aug. 23 while onboard Qatar Airways flight 077 that was scheduled to land at George Bush Intercontinental Airport at 1:05 p.m.

Police said Alsiari was coming to Houston to be treated in the Medical Center. A doctor was traveling with her when she died about 10 hours into the flight from Doha, Qatar.

Investigators said Alsiari’s death appears to be from natural causes, but they are awaiting autopsy results for an official cause of death.
