Woman dies after house explosion in Montgomery County
Two other victims remain in critical condition
Montgomery County officials said one of the three victims in Tuesday’s house explosion in Dobin has died.
According to the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office Facebook page, the family of 55-year-old Jennifer Mock confirmed that she died as a result of her injuries suffered during the explosion.
The family told authorities that 65-year-old Lena Mock Knight is still in very critical condition at Hermann Hospital Houston. Eight-month-old baby Wyatt remains in critical, but stable condition at UTMB Galveston.
The explosion happened shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday morning at a residence near FM 1486 and Highway 105 in Dobbin, northwest of Conroe.
The family said the blast occurred when two sisters were making breakfast and turned on the propane-fueled stove.
Investigators with the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Railroad Commission of Texas are investigating. Officials believe the explosion resulted from a buildup of flammable gases in or around the home, but an exact cause of the explosion has not been determined.
The fire marshal’s office said investigators were at the scene again Thursday.
