HOUSTON – Police say a woman apparently blacked out while driving and ended up in a southwest Houston home.
It happened around 1:00 a.m. on Fordshire and Breakwood.
The woman slammed into the side of the home and hit the car inside the garage. Investigators said the woman has a history of blacking out, and they think she may have blacked out behind the wheel this time.
No one was home at the time of the crash, and officials said they had the area blocked off for several hours for safety concerns.
The intersection of Breakwood and Fordshire is more of a curve than a full turn, and residents in the area said people often try to make the turn too fast. Officials have put up a sign warning drivers of the sharp turn, but that didn't seem help the woman in Sunday's crash.
She was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
No one else was injured.
