HOUSTON -

Two drivers were taken to the hospital after a chain reaction crash on the Gulf Freeway in southeast Houston Friday morning.

Just before 1 a.m., officials said a car stalled in the right southbound lane of Gulf Freeway near Clear Lake City Boulevard, and the driver left the car.

Police said a woman was driving in the same lane in a red SUV and didn't see the stalled vehicle. She slammed into the car, which caused the driver of a Dodge Durango behind her to rear end her SUV.

Both of those drivers were taken to the hospital in stable condition.
