Woman confronted by burglar in home

HOUSTON – A southwest Houston woman came face to face with burglars on Tuesday.

Houston police said two men knocked on a door in the 4100 block of Glenshire about 10:30 a.m.

Jackie Fair lives inside that home. She said she looked out an upstairs window and saw a car she didn't recognize, so she didn't answer the door.

"I kind of had a weird feeling about it," Fair said. "I went and put my alarm on."

Minutes later, Fair said she heard glass shatter and realized something was breaking into her home.

Fair said she picked up the phone to call 911, but the line was dead.

Fair said she ran out of a bedroom and was confronted by one of the burglars who was coming up the stairs.

"I just started screaming and he looked at somebody downstairs, said something and they turned and ran out," Fair said. "He looked as scared as I did."

Fair said the burglars got away in a gray sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Impala, that had body damage near the passenger-side headlight.

Detailed descriptions of the burglars haven't been released, but Fair said one was heavy, the other was thin and both appeared to be in their 20s.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
