Local terminal cancer patient's dying 'Star Wars' wish comes true

SPRING, Texas – A terminally ill cancer patient's dying wish to see the new "Star Wars" film went viral weeks ago and has now come true.

Daniel Fleetwood's wife posted this on Facebook Thursday:

"Daniels final dream was just granted!!! Today the wonderful Disney and Lucasfilms made his final dream come true, in the amazing typical Disney way, they really do make dreams come true."
She went on to write: "Daniel just finished watching an unedited version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. We would like to thank the awesomely talented JJ Abrams for calling us yesterday to tell us Daniel was getting his wish granted."

When we met Fleetwood, he was worried he wouldn't get a chance to see the movie because of his disease. His doctors only gave him a few months to live because of a rare form of connective tissue cancer called spindle cell sarcoma. Meanwhile, according to a GoFundMe page, nearly $30,000 has been raised.
"The Force Awakens" is scheduled for nationwide release on Dec. 18.

Back in July Daniel's oncologist gave him only two months to live from a rare form of connective tissue cancer called spindle cell sarcoma.
