Woman approached for sex at Webster store

WEBSTER, Texas – A woman is recovering after she said she was approached for sex at a Bed Bath and Beyond store in Webster.

Kathleen McMillen said she first noticed a male, suspected to be a teenager, staring at her as she was shopping. She said suspected teen soon walked up to her and started telling her to perform sexual acts on him.

McMillen said she started screaming and tried to get an employee to help her. She said the sales associate ignored her at first, but with her urging, he eventually listened to her complaint and wrote down a description of the suspected teen. By then, however, he was gone.

The next day, McMillen said she called Webster police. Investigators said they questioned the manager, who told him they had no surveillance video that showed the suspected teenager.

Police said the manager believes the suspected came in and left the store with a woman who appeared to be his mother.

Police said if they knew who the suspected teenager was, they could possibly pursue a disorderly conduct charge.
