Woman accused of sexually assaulting boy
Juliet Chavon Ervin held on $30K bond
A 25-year-old woman accused of sexually assaulting a then 6-year-old boy remains in jail on $30,000 bond.
Juliet Chavon Ervin went before a magistrate judge on Tuesday. She was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14 after her arrest on Monday.
The alleged victim, now 13, told investigators Ervin lived with him and his mother in the 4600 block of Alvin in southeast Houston for several months. She would call him into her bedroom and urge him to touch her, according to court documents.
"I'm a mother and a grandmother and I'm a great-grandmother," said Patricia Davis, adding she'd do anything to protect her own children.
"An innocent child -- they don't know no better," said Kathy Pines. "[They're] probably afraid to say something because his mom wouldn't have believed him."
When police arrested Ervin, she denied knowing the boy but later changed her story, said investigators.
Police believe Ervin may be connected to other sexual assault cases involving children.
