Woman accused of leading police on high-speed chase

HPD: 4 people were in car with the woman

HOUSTON –  A woman is in custody after police said she led them on a high-speed chase through north Houston.

The chase began around 11:30 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Hopper and the Eastex Freeway.

Officers spotted the car running a red light and tried to pull it over, but the driver refused to stop.

According to police the driver had four men in the car with her when she led officers on the chase.

About 15 minutes in, she lost control at Rankin Road and slammed into a barricade.

The driver and two passengers ran away from the scene. Officers were able to catch the woman and one passenger, but the other passenger got away.

The two other passengers stayed at the scene.

Officers say the car was reported stolen from Sealy.
