Woman accused of kidnapping child from homeless shelter

HOUSTON – A woman is accused of trying to take another woman's child from a homeless shelter.

Rosette Kany Angunda, 19, was arrested June 27 on suspicion of attempted kidnapping.

Authorities say Angunda took another woman's 2-year-old child from the Star of Hope at 1811 Ruiz Street near downtown Houston. The mother, daughter and Angunda all lived at the shelter.

Police found the child with Angunda several blocks away, according to officials.

She is being held on $2,000 bail in the Harris County Jail.
