HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A woman was arrested after kicking a deputy several times in the chin during a traffic stop, the Harris County Constable Pct. 4 Office said.

A deputy observed a passenger vehicle on Feb. 25, in the 26000 block of Cyrpesswood Drive in North Harris County, that was unable to maintain a single lane of traffic, struck the curb and then began to straddle the center lane.

Authorities said a traffic stop was initiated, and the vehicle stopped in the 26600 block of Cypresswood Drive.

The driver, identified as Rebecca Castillo, 22, was discovered to have been under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, authorities said. She was placed in the back seat of the patrol vehicle.

Authorities said Castillo slipped her handcuffed hands to the front of her body while in the back seat of the patrol vehicle.

Castillo then began to kick the door in an attempt to get out of the vehicle, authorities said. The deputy opened the door and told her to get out of the vehicle so he could place the handcuffs back behind her back, according to authorities.

Authorities said that when Castillo was told to get back in the back seat of the vehicle, she refused and began to forcibly kick the deputy.

The deputy was kicked several times in the chin as he placed Castillo back in the patrol vehicle, authorities said.

"Castillo was arrested, charged with assault of a public servant and booked into the Harris County jail," Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman said.

Castillo's bond was set at $5,000 out of the 351st District Court, Herman said.
