Woman accused of assaulting police officer

Jessica Farmer charged with assault on a public servant

SANTA FE, Texas – A woman has been accused of assaulting a police officer.

On Jan. 8, Santa Fe police officers were called out to deal with a possibly suicidal woman in the 15200 block of Navigation.

According to police, Jessica Farmer, 23, was initially cooperative and was placed in an ambulance to be transported to a local hospital.

Farmer got out of the ambulance and was walking on the roadway, EMS workers said.

As an officer attempted to detain her for her own safety, she struck him in the side with her fist, police said.

The officer got Farmer into handcuffs and took her to the Santa Fe Police Department, police said.

Farmer has been charged with assault on a public servant.

Her bond has been set at $5,000.
