A Houston woman was arrested after being accused of assaulting an elderly man.

Friendswood police said they were called to a Kroger store at 3135 FM 528 just before 2 p.m. Monday.

During their investigation, the officers learned the incident started at a crosswalk.

Police said the man stopped at the crosswalk to let Raquel Monique Johnson, 27, walk by.

Johnson was allegedly talking on her cell phone and holding up traffic. Officers said, once she passed, the man sped away.

As the man excited his vehicle, he said Johnson ran toward him and assaulted him.

The man was treated by Friendswood EMS.

Johnson was taken into custody. She was charged with injury to elderly. She has posted a $10,000 bond.

According to the police, Johnson also had warrants for her arrest in Pasadena.
