HOUSTON -

A woman is accused in the fatal shooting of a man found in a burned-out vehicle last month.

At around 4 a.m. April 28, police say emergency crews responded to a car fire in the 3600 block of McKinney and found the victim inside. The victim, later identified as 53-year-old Houston Edwards, appeared to have been shot.

Evidence from the scene and witness statements identified Sandra F. Berry as the suspect in this case, according to Houston police. Berry was interviewed Wednesday by HPD homicide investigators and subsequently charged for her role in Edwards' death.

Berry, 45, is charged with murder.

The investigation is continuing.
