HOUSTON -

A Houston woman accused in the fatal shooting of her husband has pleaded guilty.

Dedra Jackson, 48, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for murder.

Police say she killed her husband, Nathaniel Jackson, 44, at a home in the 1500 of Big Bend Drive in northwest Houston on Aug. 18, 2012.

According to investigators, Dedra Jackson had an altercation with her 22-year-old daughter, which escalated into a physical confrontation.

Police say Nathaniel Jackson then intervened and was shot by his wife.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
