Wife of Haverstock Hill shooting suspect also charged in case

HOUSTON – The wife of one of the suspects in a shooting that killed two people at the Haverstock Hill Apartments in north Houston earlier this year has also been charged.

Asia Jones, 24, has been charged with capital murder in connection with the March 26 shooting at the Aldine Bender Lane complex.

Investigators said an argument between two groups culminated when Kenneth Jones, 35, and his brother Harvey Jones, 34, arrived at the complex. They said Kenneth Jones pulled a rifle from the vehicle he was in and began firing it at the crowd of people.

Investigators said Asia Jones, who is the wife of Kenneth Jones, provided the weapon her husband used, and helped her husband and his brother avoid arrest.

Kenneth Jones was arrested in Florida two months after the shooting, and has been charged with capital murder.

Harvey Jones was arrested shortly after the shooting. He has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Gary Rushner, 31, and Christopher Beatty, 33, were killed in the shooting. Two other men and two women were injured.
