A Webster woman has been charged after police said she stole nearly $200 worth of items from her previous employer.
Friendswood police said officers were called to the Kroger grocery store at 151 N. Friendswood Drive Sunday afternoon.
Upon arrival, the manager of the store told police the suspect was confronted and she had left. Officers searched the area and located the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Angela Skinner, after a short chase.
Police said Skinner had been terminated from the store.
During the incident, she set off the store’s anti-theft system as she walked out with a brown bag.
According to police, the bag contained $193 worth of items.
Once Skinner was in custody, police found 25 units of Suboxone in her purse.
Skinner was transported to jail and charged with theft, possession of a dangerous drug and evading arrest. Her bond was set at $4,000.
