The case against three Webster police officers accused of using excessive force has been reset until February.

Officers Peter Behler, Colin Murphy and Daniel Bassett faced a judge for the first time Friday morning and are charged with official oppression. The charges stem from a domestic dispute call from September.

According to court documents, the officers went too far when they hit a man with a gun and kicked and tasered him.

The officers claim they were acting in self defense because the suspect was armed.

The three officers are on paid leave from the Webster Police Department during the investigation.
