HOUSTON -

A water main break is causing some traffic problems in southwest Houston Wednesday afternoon.

Officials said construction crews were drilling a hole for a new traffic light at the intersection of Bissonnet and Boone around noon when they hit a 12-inch water main.

Crews reported seeing a 40-foot water spout shoot into the air.

One lane of traffic is blocked while crews work to repair the valves supplying water to the pipe.

Officials reported minor street flooding and minor traffic backups.
