HOUSTON -

The city of Houston's Department of Public Works and Engineering on Thursday finished cleaning up a 496,000-gallon spill at a wastewater treatment facility in southeast Houston.

The spill happened at the Sims Bayou South Wastewater Treatment Plant, located at 8209 Gulf Freeway, about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials blamed the spill on a main breaker that was tripped but had no power.
