Visit museums, try hockey for free this weekend

HOUSTON – It's November and stores with high holiday hopes are offering freebies to get shoppers inside the doors.

JC Penney is offering free family portraits in November for rewards members. The offer includes free sitting fees and a free 8x10. They will also email you a digital copy.

The store is also offering free kid's haircuts every Sunday starting this weekend in JC Penney's salons, according to their advertisement. The free haircuts are for children in kindergarten through 6th grade. Parents need to call ahead to book an appointment.

Kids can try hockey for free Saturday at ice skating rinks across the country. USA Hockey is sponsoring Try Hockey For Free Day. Children 4 to 9 years old are invited to come out and learn to play. Click here to find the participating rinks in the Houston area.

If you have a Bank of America debit or credit card, it can be your free weekend pass to 150 museums nationwide this weekend. It's part of the Museums on Us program. In Houston, the card will get you free admission to the Houston Zoo, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Children's Museum of Houston.

Even if you don't have a Bank of America card, you can get free admission to the Children's Museum of Houston on Sunday. The free admission is courtesy of Target Free First Sunday. The museum will be holding an Election Day Bash to teach children the importance of voting.

If you are looking for free outside fun, the Korean Festival will be held Saturday at Discovery Green downtown. There will be TaeKwonDo Masters, Korean musicians, dancers, artists and food.
