Vigil to be held for customer killed during Denny’s robbery
A vigil will be held Friday night for the man who was shot and killed during a robbery at the Denny’s restaurant near Memorial Park.
Greig Placette, 64, was one of two people shot during the robbery. The other victim survived.
Witnesses said Placette was acting as a human shield to protect children in the restaurant. He was hit by two of the bullets fired off by three gunmen who robbed the people inside of their cell phones and wallets.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a vigil at 6 p.m.
Funeral services are planned for Saturday morning.
