BELLAIRE, Texas -

A candlelight vigil was held for a Bellaire police officer who was shot and killed in a Maaco parking lot last Christmas Eve.

Bellaire police officer Sgt. Jimmie Norman and the owner of that service shop, Terry Taylor who were both after a chase suspect, crashed his car and opened fire on the two.

"Every new month is another month without Jimmie. So it's just a year of those firsts," said Lt. Jeffrey Cotton, with the Bellaire Police Department.

Sgt. Norman was the first officer in the Bellaire Police Department to die in the line of duty in it's 100-year history.

Harlem Lewis has been charged in the death of both men. He is scheduled to appear in court in January.
