Neighbors watched smoke fill the home and flames shoot from the roof.
According to WJLA, firefighters struggled to find hydrants to put out the flames.
“There are no hydrants nearby, so we had to bring some additional water and tankers and long hoses,” said Paul Ruwi - of Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.
Everyone inside the house escaped unharmed.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
WJLA reported that the mansion was owned by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, according to public tax records.
