A family in the West Green Park neighborhood woke up Thursday morning to find all three of their SUVs vandalized.
They soon realized they weren't the only victims.
"It upsets me," said resident Michele Wentworth.
Wentworth said some time between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday, the vandals spray painted profanities on her family's SUVs parked in their driveway. It also appears they used stencils to spray paint the Playboy Bunny on one of the vehicles. "I'm very upset because we work hard for our stuff and I don't need kids or whoever is doing this to come to my neighborhood and to mess with our stuff," Wentworth said.
At first she thought the vandal or vandals were targeting her family, but then she started talking to neighbors.
She counted at least a dozen other vehicles that were also spray painted over night. She says one of her neighbor's trucks even had a racial slur written across it.
"Wow that's really really bad," said neighbor Maddy Ma. "I can't imagine what type of person would do that."
Wentworth moved into her home about 10 years ago and says she has never had any issues. Now with no clue about who spray painted the cars and why, she worries about what could happen next.
"People are telling me the spray paint will come out with paint thinner, but well what happens when they start painting my house," Wentworth said.
She says the family plans to repaint one of their SUVs, which will cost several thousand dollars.
She filed a report with the Precinct 5 Constable's Office. She tells Local 2 officers were out patrolling the streets and asking questions Thursday morning.
