FORT BEND COUNTY - According to authorities, the missing Fort Bend County man has been found safe in his community just after 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.

A Silver Alert has been cancelled for 80-year-old Sterling Macer, who was last seen around 10 p.m. Tuesday when he was put to bed in his Weston Lakes home, located in the 3200 block of Wellspring Lake Drive. Weston Lakes is located between Fulshear and Simonton on FM 1093 in northwest Fort Bend County.

Family members told authorities they realized that Macer had left his home at about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials said Macer suffers from Alzheimer's disease and requires medication.

Deputies searched the immediate area for several hours before he was found safe.
