HOUSTON - A man who was shot after getting out of a cab in southwest Houston has died.
It happened around 4 a.m. September 19 near Bissonnet Street at Country Creek Drive.
According to police, the victim, later identified as 45-year-old Ikechukwu Uzodinma Godson, was sitting in a taxi cab parked on the side of the street outside of a night club when he was shot at least twice.
Witnesses said they saw Godson getting out of the back seat of the cab when a person in the driver's seat shot him and then drove off.
Officials said Godson was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition, but died on September 27.

The cab is described as a 2007 silver or light blue Ford Fusion, with a "Godson Cab" decal on the side, which may have been removed.
