Unconscious person rescued from tunnel in downtown Houston

HOUSTON - Emergency crews rescued an unconscious person from a tunnel in downtown Houston.

The Houston Fire Department says crews responded shortly before 3:30 p.m. The victim was extricated from a tunnel at 1777 Walker Street near Avenida de la Americans. Crews used a scaffold during the rescue.

The patient was transported to a nearby hospital. Their condition is not known at this time.

The cause of injuries is unknown.
