UHD proposal for gender neutral restrooms causes controversy

HOUSTON – A controversial proposal for gender neutral restrooms at the University of Houston-Downtown campus is causing quite a stir tonight.

Spearheading that proposal is student body vice president, Kristopher Sharp.

The bill seeks to make a number of restrooms on campus "gender neutral", allowing anyone to use that specific facility.

According to the proposed bill, the gender neutral restroom would be similar to those marked as "family restrooms", like you would see at a mall or hospital.

The proposal is set for Jan. 10.
