HOUSTON - A University of Houston employee has been charged with tampering with a government record.
Investigators said Karen Mayberry, a secretary in the Math Department, submitted bogus expense reports.
Certain employees at the university are allowed to make purchases using procurement cards, but the school said Mayberry used her card for purchases such as groceries, airfare and rental cars.
Investigators said she was caught after submitting a false expense report with doctored receipts.
