HOUSTON – Two teens were charged early Saturday morning in the death of a loyal customer during a robbery at a southeast Houston Subway restaurant.

The pair of teenagers are accused of storming into a Subway restaurant in the 6400 block of MLK Boulevard Tuesday night and demanding money from an employee at gunpoint. The teens then turned their attention to McGrew, the only customer in the sandwich chain restaurant at the time.

The two employees in the store say there was a struggle between the robbers and McGrew, and one of the teens shot the man.

Employees say McGrew was a loyal customer, and he ate at the restaurant often.

After the incident, police say the two teenagers only made off with about $100. Both Talbert and Jones are scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
