HOUSTON -

Two people ended up in the hospital after an SUV slammed into the side of a METRO bus, police said.

The METRO bus was traveling down Scott Road in South Central Houston around midnight Saturday, according to investigators.  When the driver turned on Scott Street, an SUV speeding down the road did not see the bus and slammed into the side of it.

The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital in critical condition. One of the passengers on the bus was also taken in stable condition.

Police said the entire front end of the SUV sustained major damage from the impact; however, the METRO bus only received minor damage to its side.
