HOUSTON – Two local middle school staff members were honored for saving a student's life.
The 7th grade girl went into cardiac arrest on a staircase on Feb. 28. Spillane Middle School's nurse Becky Cushen and club swim coach Sean Stiewart resuscitated the girl's heart using an automated external defibrillator last month.
