HOUSTON – Two people who were allegedly smoking marijuana inside a car with their 4-year-old nephew in the backseat are facing serious charges.
It allegedly happened around 8:30 pm Tuesday at South Gessner near Gustine Lane in southwest Houston. According to court documents, an off-duty Houston police officer, who was working a second job as a security guard, spotted Meglionne Manon Montgomery along with Tarlisha M. Whitten smoking marijuana with Whitten's 4-year-old nephew in the car.

Both Montgomery and Whitten were arrested and taken into custody. Investigators have not said who Whitten's 4-year-old nephew was placed with during the arrest.
Montgomery and Whitten are both facing a felony charges of endangering a child. The two are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday to have an attorney assigned.
