HOUSTON -

Rain activity will diminish Tuesday evening as temperatures cool through the 80s. Rain-free, muggy conditions will persist overnight with low temperatures Wednesday morning only dipping into the low- to mid-70s.

The current weather pattern in southeast Texas will persist for the foreseeable future. The southeast flow off the Gulf of Mexico will keep tropical moisture in place and very seasonable summer weather will continue for Houston.

Expect afternoon high temperatures to reach into the low and mid 90s each afternoon. As the temperature climbs, the atmosphere will destabilize and scattered showers and storms will generate each afternoon. Not everyone will get rain every day.

Expect a 20 to 30 percent chance each afternoon, so keep an eye to the sky and an umbrella close by just in case you get caught in a summer downpour.

The window of opportunity for rain will be between noon and 6pm each afternoon, when temperatures approach or exceed 90 degrees.
