COLUMBUS, Texas - A state trooper is recovering in the hospital after investigators said he was hit by an SUV near Columbus.
Officials said the trooper was working an accident near FM 102 and Wilson Hill Road. When the trooper started to walk back to his patrol car, investigators said an SUV coming around the corner lost control on the wet road and slammed into his vehicle.
The trooper and the driver of the SUV were taken to the hospital. Officials said both were expected to be okay.
Authorities have not yet said whether the driver of the SUV faces any charges.
