"I have one trooper who was chasing a violator and while in pursuit of the violator, he lost control of his vehicle," said Paul Simpson with Texas DPS. "He rolled his vehicle, it looks like three times."

Salinas slammed into a road barrier and the vehicle rolled over into a ditch. The car was totaled.

Salinas was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Less than one mile away, another DPS trooper on the way to the scene to help Salinas also lost control of his vehicle and crashed.

"The other trooper was responding to the crash that occurred here and hit a slick portion of the roadway and lost control of his vehicle," Simpson said.

The second trooper was also taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

DPS officials said both cars were equipped with dash cameras and those recordings will be part of the investigation.
