MCSO looking for men who robbed a house, shot and tied up resident

MAGNOLIA, Texas – The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest or indictment of three men who robbed a Magnolia home Wednesday night.

According to deputies, the incident happened at 11:23 p.m. in the 3800 block of 149 Spur Road.

After 20 years of living in the country, the couple who lives in the home thought they were immune to violent crime. But last night, all that changed.

Three armed men in ski masks broke into the home and attacked the husband and wife who lived there.

"They grabbed my hair and they zip-tied me tight in the back," the wife said.

She was dragged to the bedroom where her 73-year-old husband was asleep.

The robbers busted in the door and started yelling at him, the same thing over and over.

"We're going to kill you! We're going to kill you! Give us the money! Give us the money! They said, 'We know you've got it. We know there's a safe,'" the wife said.,

One of the robbers hit her husband in the head with the butt of a rifle, dragged him to another room and shot him.

"He's got bullet holes in both of his legs. It shattered one of the bones in one leg and went through the bone in the other leg but he's OK," the wife said.

The thieves ransacked the couples' home and got away with about $5,000 in cash. She believes she and her husband might be dead had it not been for one of the robbers.

She says he convinced the others it was time to leave.

"I said, 'You know I'll give you a job.' I said, 'Do you like horses?' And he really just got soft and I got this feeling that he felt sorry for us so wherever you are, thank you, you saved our lives," the wife said.

Deputies say the husband is in stable condition.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Detective C. Ansley, with the MCSO Major Crimes Unit at 936-760-5876.
