MAGNOLIA, Texas – Traffic in Magnolia was snarled on Monday after a train slammed into an 18-wheeler.
Magnolia firefighters said the crash happened on the railroad tracks along F.M. 1488 at F.M. 1774 about 3:20 p.m.
Investigators said a truck got stalled on the tracks. A freight train came around a corner and its conductor was unable to stop before hitting the truck, officials said.
There was a small diesel spill, but it was quickly contained.
The wreck caused some problems for students going home from school. Buses and parents were re-routed to avoid the area.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the truck's stall is under investigation.
