Traffic stop leads to drug charge

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – A man was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop in Fort Bend County.

Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies said a member of the Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force saw Jorge Alberto Cabellero, 33, speeding on the Southwest Freeway on Tuesday.

A detective stopped Cabellero near Beasley. A K-9 unit searched the car and found 9.2 pounds of crystal methamphetamines, investigators said.

The street value of the drugs was about $300,000, detectives said.

Cabellero was arrested and charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Fort Bend County Jail with bond set at $50,000.
