Tin Hall, Texas' oldest dance hall, closes

HOUSTON – Texas' oldest dance hall, Tin Hall, closed its doors for good this week.

The reception hall that opened in 1890 once hosted legends like Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, and rising country stars. The land has been sold.

The owners hope to find a buyer for everything and have Tin Hall relocated.

But everything from records to bar stools will be auctioned off Friday by award-winning auctioneer Wayne Wheat.

The auction will take place at noon but organizers plan to open at 10 a.m. for people to look at all the memorabilia.
