Three people shot after leaving party in southeast Houston, police say

HOUSTON – Three people were shot and wounded in southeast Houston after leaving a party.

Houston police Cmdr. Salam Zia said officers found one of the gunshot victims inside a car that crashed into a fence at Thomas Middle School in the 5600 block of Selinsky Road.

The victim, a female, was shot in the neck, while two others who were also wounded left the scene of the crash, according to Zia. Her age was not released.

Zia said the three left a party at a nearby apartment complex and drove to a corner store where another car drove up to them. Someone inside that vehicle shot at the car window, striking all three people inside the victims' car.

The shooter fled, and police have no description of the vehicle.
