Three men charged after armored truck robbery
Three men are charged with aggravated robbery after a armored car guard was shot while servicing an ATM at a bank, according to Humble police.
Police say around 10:30 a.m. Oct. 7, Stephen Carter, William Williams and Bobby Gray arrived at the Chase Bank on 19747 North US 59 and waited in a parking spot for a Garda armored van to arrive.
Investigators say that once the van arrived, a guard got out and retrieved empty bins from the ATM, returned to the van, and when he went back to the ATM with new containers, Williams began to shoot at the guard, hitting him multiple times.
According to investigators, the guard fell to the ground while drawing his weapon, and returned fire. The Garda guard inside the van also shot at the men.
Officials say the suspect's car was hit twice in the back wheel and window. The 2011 Dodge Charger, that was reported to be stolen, was found about a mile from the bank in a parking lot.
Police say Stephen Carter turned himself in on Friday, confessing to being the driver on the Charger at the attempted robbery.
