HOUSTON – A Houston police officer is in the hospital after his patrol car was hit by another car outside an HPD substation.
Police say the officer was traveling northbound on Gessner Road when a car blew past a stop sign and hit the officer.

The policeman's airbag deployed, according to authorities.
There is no word on the extent of his injuries.
