Thieves use stolen truck to smash into convenience store

One suspect in custody, one still on the run

HOUSTON - Harris County sheriffs deputies said thieves used a stolen pickup truck to slam into a Chevron gas station convenience store in northwest Harris County. with the intention of looting the store

Investigators said after the suspects crashed into the store around 1 a.m. Tuesday on FM 1960 and Cypress Station Drive, they realized an employee was inside the store and were scared off.

As they drove away, a Houston police officer spotted the truck and began chasing the men. The chase lasted only a few minutes; the suspects lost control of the truck and slammed into a Wells Fargo drive through bank teller area.

Officers were able to arrest one of the suspects at the scene, but the other man ran away.

Employees at the Chevron gas station are now cleaning up the mess and repairs are expected to cost thousands of dollars.
