Thieves steal wallet, go on $11,000 shopping spree

WEBSTER, Texas – A woman's wallet was stolen while she was having dinner, and police said the thieves went on an $11,000 shopping spree.

"My whole life was in my wallet," said the victim, who did not want to be identified. "She could ruin my whole life, and that's a pretty scary thing."

The victim said her wallet was taken while she was seated at the bar at the Carrabba's Italian Grill on Bay Area Boulevard about two weeks ago.

"I do not remember them at all," said the victim of the thieves. "But, I did not pay attention to the people behind us in the booth."

The victim said she put her purse on the back of her chair.

"On the back of the barstool right in between me and my husband," she said. "It was right next to me the whole time."

After the thieves got the wallet, they spent about $11,000 in two hours, according to Webster police. The thieves first went to Best Buy, where they spent about $4,000 on a home entertainment system. After that, the thieves spent $7,000 on about 25 Michael Kors purses at the Macy's store in Baybrook Mall. Their last stop was the Marshalls at Meyerland Plaza, where they bought $200 worth of shoes.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Webster police at 281-332-2426.
