Thief breaks down door, robs homeowner at gunpoint

CYPRESS, Texas – A violent thief robbed a Cypress homeowner at gunpoint after breaking down a door to get inside the home.

It happened in the 19000 block of Whimsey Drive on April 5, around 9:40 a.m.

The robber broke in through the back door of the home, police said, then pointed a gun at the victim.

At one point the crook threw the victim to the floor and demanded his money, investigators said. The victim, fearing for his life, quickly handed over his wallet.

Police said the thief grabbed the wallet and ran off.

Surveillance cameras captured the crook both inside and outside of the house. Police described him as 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches in height, weighing approximately 170 to 180 pounds, with a stocky build. He was wearing a ski mask and a gray hooded sweatshirt at the time of the crime.
