Thanksgiving Day deals in Houston

HOUSTON – Would you rather be watching football, enjoying a movie, or fighting crowds trying to score a great deal on Thanksgiving night?

So many retailers will be open on Thanksgiving this year, it made us wonder if the deals are worth sacrificing time with family. Consumer expert Amy Davis poured through the ads to show you the best Thanksgiving Day bargains.

Walmart's door busters begin at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving night and the lowest prices will only last one hour.  They'll have 32-inch flat screen TV's for $98. Different stores will have different brands on sale. If the store runs out of the TV's during the first hour, they'll give you a rain check with guaranteed delivery before Christmas.

The xBox One will be $499; and you can get the new PS4 for $399. This is the same price you'll see the game consoles at other retailers, but since they will be difficult to find.

You can buy a first-generation iPad Mini for $299; and you'll get a $100 Wal-Mart gift card. You can use that to buy a backyard stainless steel 4-burner grill for $99.

How about a waffle maker for $4.50? More than 150 DVD titles will be just $1.96.

These items (except for the 32-inch TV's) are only available while supplies last from 6 to 7p.m.

Wal-Mart announced that it is lowering some prices on toys and electronics to match competitors Target, Toys R Us and Best Buy a week early on November 22.

Best Buy opens at 6pm on Thanksgiving. They'll hand out wristbands starting at 4 p.m.

We found a 39-inch Insignia LED HDTV for $169.99, a 16-gigabyte Apple iPad2 for $299; a Samsung Galaxy 3 7-inch tablet for $150, a 16-gigabyte Kindle Fire HD for $99.99 and
an Xbox360 bundle for $189.99. The store will reveal additional mystery deals starting at 10 p.m.

The doors at Macy's open at 8 p.m.; and that's also when you'll find some of the lowest prices like cashmere sweaters for $39.99 and Calvin Klein and Guess boots for $99.

For the guys, they'll have Kenneth Cole Reaction dress shirts for $22. And there are a variety of kitchen accessories like toasters, blenders and slow cookers you can snag for $9.99. The prices go up on Friday.

Toys R Us opens at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Their doorbusters last through 9 p.m. The Despicable Me 2 Dancing Dave is half off just $24.99. The Leapfrog Leapad 2 Explorer half off at $39.99. And this Doc McStuffins Doctor Bag Set is 60 percent off. You can get it for $7.99.

Target opens at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving, but the sales prices are good all weekend. See Target's ad.

Sears sales are good from 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving through 1 p.m. on Black Friday, while supplies last. See Sears' ad.
