Woman who called 911 twice in last week found dead

HOUSTON – A death investigation is underway in southwest Houston after a woman who called police twice for help in the last few days was found dead.

Houston police said 25-year-old Meghan Hairston was found dead Monday night in the 5900 block of Bridlington near South Post Oak.

"She was a good person. She was sweet. She was nice. I don't see her doing no wrong to nobody," said a neighbor, who didn't want to be identified.

Houston police said Hairston reported an aggravated robbery at her home last Friday involving four suspects who forced their way inside and stole several items. She was then taken by the suspects to several ATMs in the area to withdraw cash.

"I just think somebody who has been in that house knew what was going on, knew what was up in there," said the neighbor.

Officials said Hairston was eventually dropped off unharmed.

The next day, police said Hairston reported her home had been burglarized by two unknown suspects. In that incident, her white 2004 Chevy Malibu was stolen. The vehicle was found on Monday.

Police said Hairston's family became concerned after not hearing from her since the reported incidents and went to her home. Her mother went inside and found her daughter's body in a bedroom.

An autopsy is pending.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
