HOUSTON - A woman who lives on Windjammer near Windward Passage in southwest Houston said a man forced his way into her home as she was returning with breakfast for her mother and her son Thursday morning.
She said he had a gun and tied her hands with the wire from his phone charger and used another wire to tie up her feet.
She told Local 2, "They pushed my mom and my baby in closet. He tried to take all of the money. He tried...asked all my money. I said, I don't have money. I'm just very poor."
She said the robber covered her head with a blanket while her mother and son were in the closet. She said it took 15 to 20 minutes to free herself.
She said she ran out the door until she saw a neighbor driving down the street. Jerry Cervantes untied the woman and called for help.
He said, "She was tied up when I was driving by. She was just running to me and so I help her out and I call 911."
She said her purse, a couple of phones and money were stolen. Her son and mother survived.
She said, "I'm okay. I'm happy now."
The Houston Police and the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office were investigating.
